Bob Andruszkiewicz, Producer/Director
Bob Andruszkiewicz is an award winning television Producer/Director of social and environmental documentaries and PSA's. Bob's company, ABUZZ Media has produced hundreds of programs for national and international broadcast clients for over 16 years.
He was Creator, Producer, and Director of “This Renewable House” the first television program produced using solar power. “Sunny and Friends ” was Bob’s second creation that teaches kids about renewable energy. Consequently all of ABUZZ Media productions are now wind and solar powered.
His critically acclaimed documentary on youth and violence, Lost Hopes, Shattered Dreams, was broadcast on PBS. This production earned him an Emmy nomination, as well as a Silver Apple Award from the National Educational Video Festival.
+positive voices, his documentary on teens with HIV/AIDS, was nominated for a SHINE Award by the Kaiser Family Foundation for accurate and honest portrayals of sexuality in the media. +positive voices gave a lasting and effective voice to teens that contracted the disease. Their message was intended for their peers and proved useful in sex and AIDS education efforts throughout the country.
International documentary work for textbook publishers, McGraw-Hill, John Wiley and Sons and Heinle & Heinle won him praises from clients and a 1st Place Telly Award for a program, Pueblos Indigenas.
Bob directed a water conservation video program geared for children. Using puppets and music in real life situations, ABUZZ Media succeeded in getting this critical message across to Rhode Island parents and children. The program continues to entertain and educate students in classroom settings, helping curb water consumption throughout the state of Rhode Island.
ABUZZ Media shot and edited a program commissioned by the World Council of Churches in Geneva, Switzerland about at-risk youth in the City of Boston. The program premiered at the WWC International conference in Zimbabwe, Africa and later enjoyed international distribution.
Bob's personal interest and documentary work on electric vehicles sent him to the World Solar challenge in Australia. ABUZZ Media videotaped and interviewed the leading automobile manufacturers during their 5-day race across the outback. His production company attracted the Australian press for being the first production company to shoot the entire 14 days using solar power.
ABUZZ Media later created and produced BLINK, a PSA for NESEA’s solar and electric car race, the American Tour de Sol. The PSA helped attract thousands to the educational pit stops throughout NYC and Philadelphia. BLINK successfully integrated historical and technological factoids to create public awareness and appreciation for electric vehicles.
He is a former Board member to the USGBC New Mexico Chapter and New Mexico Solar Energy Association where he was responsible for increasing membership and awareness of renewable energy, sustainability, green building and LEED certification to professionals and the general public. Currently an advisory Board member to NMSEA. Andruszkiewicz is a graduate in Film & Television from the Rochester Institute of Technology (1985).
