Connecticut Elementary School Shooting

Dec 14, 2012 by

From my friend Carol Coote, I am in absolute agreement with her.  Actions speak louder then tears.  ca

This reaction disgusts me.  I don’t give a rat’s ass about his tears.  He can keep shedding them and keeping victims in his heart and he will have more chances believe me until he acts like a leader and takes on the NRA!!!  I don’t want you to act like a parent – act like the President and DO SOMETHING!!!

What is going on here?  This is so surreal!  I am beyond furious.

It is a sad reflection of the human capacity for violence that Wikipedia has a sub-category, under “rampage killers,” for “rampage killers: school massacres.” David Brooks’ July column on rampage killings and a related piece by the psychiatrist David Archer in Psychology Today, provide valuable data and insights on such killings, if little comfort on a very dark day.

“We’ve endured too many of these tragedies” and when they occur he says that he reacts not as the president but as a parent.

They children “had their entire lives ahead of them…Our hearts are broken today.”

President Obama shed tears in his brief remarks. He called for “meaningful action” but did not mention any policy specifics. He did not take questions. He repeated his line from Aurora, Colo. about hugging children a little tighter tonight.
